Summary/Abstract: Young Chinese who undertake Polish studies show great interest in Polish culture. In glottodidactics, acquiring intercultural competence is achieved by integrating language learning with getting to know the entire cultural context. To develop this competence, it is necessary to be aware of one’s own culture and the ability to interpret it in the context of a foreign culture. The article is an attempt to indicate such methods of working with Chinese students, which thanks to a pragmatic approach to their own culture, motivate students to get to know it more deeply, and allow them to see the relationship between their native and foreign culture.
