Summary/Abstract: The topic signalled in the title constitutes an integral part of general and Polish language content at every stage of education. It is related to the realisation of goals and tasks that motivate students to explore values of crucial importance to human life. One of these values is solidarity. The article presents theoretical findings regarding the ways of understanding this category in scientific discourse and social communication. The subject of a broader discussion is the results of an educational diagnosis, focusing on schoolchildren’s statements about solidarity, its significance, forms, and indicators. In addition, the article references several methodological solutions associated with the ethos of solidarity within literary education. In the summary, several general conclusions and reflections on the title issue are formulated.
