Summary/Abstract: The text refers to the widely discussed problem of crossing established boundaries in science, language and education. The inter- and trans-disciplinary cases discussed in this article as indicators of scientific development not only confirm the interrelationship between different disciplines, but also emphasize the value and importance of activities inspired by the idea of undertaking joint research initiatives. This issue is presented, for example, in reference to teaching the Polish language as a sub-discipline in humanities) and the experiences connected with the participation of the Lublin academic community.
