Summary/Abstract: Since the 19th century, a new artistic dimension has been making its appearance within the Romanian Orthodox Church, namely religious choral polyphony. It joins the traditional psaltic monodie, and thus a syntactic compositum is born that forms a broad religious musical literature, which considerably diversified and enriched in the 20th century. The Romanian people understood that music is the simplest form of expression and the oldest, older than speech or art, music is the human being. In the cultural center of Transylvania, towards the end of the interwar period, a new church choir was formed and developed, namely: the mixed choir “Good News” with father deacon Anatolie Scurtu as its conductor.
