Summary/Abstract: Education is the basis of a peopleʼs culture, and the history of a nation is identified by its culture. From the ancient times, education has been practiced by all peoples, with the noble goal of forming people, characters, ideas, transmitting from generation to generation a national ideal. The first state high school founded after the epoch-making event on December 1, 1918 was the „Mihai Viteazul” High School, the current „Horea, Cloşca and Crişan” National College in Alba-Iulia. Among the basic disciplines of Romanian education, music also had a leading place in the Alba-Iulia institution. It benefited from devoted, well-trained teachers with musical training, who put all their knowledge and dedication so that the young people could sing, and then formed a school choir, an orchestra of their own that were the pride and cultural standard of this prestigious high school.
