Summary/Abstract: The analysis of the contemporary military phenomenon, the local military conflicts included, highlights the role of the human resource that is required to be professional and adaptable to the evolution of the battlefield. Thus, the author considers that the development of the education systems specific to the initial formation within the Ministry of National Defence should be compliant not only with the European education policies but also with the necessities resulted from the type of the particular actions that are to be conducted. In this regard, the analysis is intended to provide some directions for the transformation of the education systems specific to the initial formation of the human resource in the Ministry of National Defence.
