Ecological alienation of children

Summary/Abstract: Today, the dominant way of spending time is to be indoors, most often in front of the screen. Few people have the time to spend time in the fresh air and contact with nature, but being outdoors brings many benefits, both for adults and children. Such human behavior nowadays results in ecological alienation. Research shows that the vast majority of school-age children quickly lose con-tact with the local environment. However, it is possible to find ways to intro-duce children to nature.
