Joseph Feldman’s activities at the Jagiellonian University

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the life and work of the distinguished historian Jozef Feldman, who was professionally connected with the Jagiellonian University. An excellent researcher of late modern history, he also showed a number of activities in the field of organization of scientific life in Krakow, including the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Polish Historical Society. The method of critical analysis of sources was used in the realization of the main research objective. The article was based on numerous source materials of various provenance. The primary source materials include, first and foremost, the legacy of the scholar and his wife stored in the Archives of the Jagiellonian University. It includes personal documents, workshop materials, typescripts of works and files on scientific and organizational activities at the Krakow university. The most extensive part is correspondence consisting of several hundred letters. In addition, archival materials from several other archival and library units, memoirs, col-lections of correspondence and other.
