Summary/Abstract: During 10 years of his service as the chairman of the Polish Episcopal Commission for Missions, Bishop Jerzy Mazur SVD has creatively and actively involved in the animation and formation of the Church in Poland. The culmination of his involvement was the 4th National Missionary Congress in 2015, preceded by missiological symposia at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, numerous media appearances and publications promoting missions. In the article we present a synthesis of Bishop Jerzy Mazur’s teaching on the mission. It is firmly based on the magisterium of the Second Vatican Council, the charism of the Congregation (the SVDs) and the recent popes. Starting from the Trinitarian sources of mission we focus on topics that are very often discussed by the author: missionary vocation, missionary disciples, Mary as Missionary and forms of missionary involvement. Bishop Jerzy Mazur has activated the missionary community in Poland by organizing various nationwide events as well as publications addressed to young people and adults.
