Summary/Abstract: The article proposes to incorporate the affirmative theory of touch into the humanisticdiscourse. The theory stems from an analysis of Aristotle’s findings regarding the sense oftouch and Bataille’s concept of general economy. According to Aristotle, a being that hasthe sense of touch is a carrier of desire, while excess pursuit of its fulfillment can result inloss and death. On the other hand, Bataille states that the flow of energy is infinite, and allacts devoid of a utilitarian value enable the restoration of human sovereignty. Affirmativetheory of touch focuses primarily on haptic actions that challenge the common-senseuse of the body matter and lead to the metamorphosis of a corporeal subject.
