STUDIES REGARDING NOISE LEVEL DURING THE NIGHT IN TIMISOARA CITY

Summary/Abstract: At the level of a urban locality, road traffic is the main cause of noise. Passing over the maximum admitted limits for noise level equivalent to residential buildings exterior, is registered across the main road arteries and in intersections in 93% of measurements. It does not matter if the measurements are done during day or night, passing over persist and do create significant discomfort. During day, across technique arteries of I category, noise level equivalent varieties in general between 69-76 dBA, for II technique category between 66-72 dBA, and for III-IV categories between 53-66dBA. During night, noise levels are decreasing because residual urban noise level decreases and traffic flux is getting lower.
