Scientific school of Professor V. S. Memetov

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the history of the origin and formation of the scientific school of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor V. S. Memetov. The author of the article proves that the basic idea that V. S. Memetov and his students developed for many years was the idea of the need for an interdisciplinary approach to studying the phenomenon of the domestic intelligentsia, the creation of a special scientific direction, which V. S. Memetov himself and many of his like-minded people called “intelligentsia studies”. The article notes the important role in the formation of the scientific school of Professor V. S. Memetov that was played by: the Interuniversity Center of the Russian Federation “Political culture of the intelligentsia, its place and role in the history of the Fatherland”, scientific conferences on the history of the intelligentsia, organized on the basis of Ivanovo State University, activities of the magazine “Intelligentsia and the World”.
