Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the artistic-aesthetic essence of the term virtuosity in the g-minor Presto from the First violin solo sonata by J.S. Bach, in the light of the abundant indications of multiple immanent layers of meaning in the musical tissue, based on which, the quick tempo diminishes to only one of the very many aspects, that need to be considered in the work process for achieving authentic and convincing interpretational result.
