Summary/Abstract: The subject of the considerations presented in the article is the private security sector of persons and property, and their purpose is to assess the current state supervision of this sector. The article defines the concept of current state supervision of private security activities and identifies the entities entrusted with its exercise. At the same time, the subject of detailed consideration was the scope of subject and object jurisdiction of the said entities, the means of control and supervision available to them and the implementation of their supervisory powers in practice. The findings in this regard allowed a critical assessment of state supervision in the systemic, regulatory and executive aspects. Conclusions were also formulated regarding the scope of possible legislative changes and the organization of the supervisory apparatus. Among the basic research methods that were used to achieve the stated goal were theoretical methods, among which dogmatic-legal analysis, critical analysis of the literature and document analysis should be mentioned. The conclusions presented in the article can be a contribution to the discussion on improving state supervision of the private security sector.
