Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze the dynamics of selected armed conflicts in 2022. They are all high intensity conflicts, with the war in Ukraine being an international armed conflict – the result of Russia’s invasion, while the other conflicts are internationalized internal conflicts. Since various dimensions and implications of the Russian aggression are discussed throughout this Strategic Yearbook, this article focuses on the strictly military dimension of the Russia-Ukraine war, while the other conflicts – in Yemen, Ethiopia and Somalia – are analyzed also from the political and humanitarian perspective. The Authors focus on the most important events from the frontlines of the armed conflicts, and on changes in the tactical and operational dimension of the fighters. They also discuss negotiation processes, especially those that resulted in a significant change in the dynamics of the conflict (as in the case of Ethiopia or Yemen in 2022) and humanitarian implications of the ongoing conflicts.
