Summary/Abstract: In the year 2023 we witnessed two stagings of Molière’s Amphitryon in Transylvanian theatres (although they premiered in two different seasons): László Bocsárdi’s Amphitryon was played by the “Harag György” Company of Satu Mare and Silviu Purcărete’s Amphitryon by the National Theatre of Cluj-Napoca. Mónika Rancz compares the two performances, which approach the play as if from two different worlds, as the creators were intrigued by different aspects of the text and the story.
