Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the questions of zoomorphic nomination as a specific tool for creating the figurative characteristic of a person in Russian and Bulgarian linguistic and cultures. Zoomorphism or zoomorphic metaphor is a universal means of reality conceptualization and since ancient times it`s been applied as anthroponomination. On the other hand, the process of anthroponomination is a natural development of mythopoetic ideas, established in a certain culture. Consequently along with universal features, it has a national specificity in Russian and Bulgarian linguocultures.
