Summary/Abstract: Abstract. Aim: The aim of this scientific article is to present selected aspects regarding the presentation of the essence of the concept of household and household cost management in theoretical and practical terms, as well as the presentation and analysis of primary and secondary data regarding behavior and forecasts in the area of planning Poles' expenses in managing personal finances, the amount of savings they have and an analysis of the level of household debt in 2015-2022 and in the current year 2023, in which the survey was conducted. The main aim of the work is to determine the basic sources of income and a subject analysis of the amount of expenses incurred by Polish residents. Main hypothesis of the work: Statistically, the inhabitants of Poland, despite the increase in the budget, which can be defined as an increase in the level of wealth in the household, spend more money on basic necessities, i.e. food and housing, than in previous years. Materials and methods: The materials used in the empirical part of the scientific article are primary and secondary data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS). In the theoretical part of the article, the following methods were used: observation and deduction, and an analysis of the literature on issues related to household cost management was carried out. The next part of the article, which presents the research area, presents an analysis of the author's quantitative research. For the purposes of carrying out the empirical part of the work, the diagnostic survey method was used, and the research tool was an online survey questionnaire.
