Summary/Abstract: Society is becoming increasingly digital and this affirms the necessity to use digital skills to overcome the challenges in personal and professional life. Technologies are playing an increasing role in all areas. This changes the requirements for the competencies of the employees. Promoting their development and improvement is one of the vision goals of a European area of lifelong learning. The COVID-19 pandemic further emphasized the importance of basic digital skills for citizens, which is the subject of analysis in this article. Increasing the level of an individual’s digital skills is a factor for successful professional realization according to the requirements of modern society and the specifics of the particular work environment.
