THE ROLE OF NOSTALGIA ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ETHNIC CULTURE AND CONSUMPTION: A STUDY ON RUSSIAN IMMIGRANTS IN TURKEY

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this research is to determine the impact of the nostalgic factors that influence the consumption behaviour of the Russian immigrants living in Turkey and can mostly be related to their ethnic root or home country on their adaptation process. To meet this goal, online interviews were conducted with thirty-one Russian consumers living in Turkey. The results revealed that the cultural and technological factors had an important impact on the consumers` consumer habits and adaptation. It was further seen that there existed important interactions between both the factors together with their sub-themes and nostalgic consumption. The research is believed to contribute especially to the fields of the nostalgic consumption and the immigrant consumer behaviour.
