Summary/Abstract: Although the studies of language and gender in Albanian linguistics began later, they have laid a solid foundation for further research. Initially, most studies focused on general differences in the fields such as phonetics/phonology, morphology, dialectology, lexis, and phraseology. However, as time went on, new linguistic disciplines were also indorporated. Consequently, the social factors influencing women's linguistic behavior have been explored, particularly their use of euphemisms and expressions, which are considered as more typical of their language including linguistic variation, disparities in lexicon and phraseology between women and men, issues related to linguistic and social equality, as well as other sociolinguistic, ethnography of speaking, and discourse analysis issues. Therefore, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of how Albanian researchers have approached the study of language and gender up to the present day.
