FEMALE LANGUAGE AS A STRATEGY TO DEVELOP AND SAVE THE IMAGE

Summary/Abstract: Developing the image through language, specifically how women manage their language behavior to fit to the norms or mentality of society, and as a consequence to save or create the image, is of particular importance in language and gender studies. In this study some language communication tools are treated, which are used as a strategy for communicating in best and most correct way in order to maintain image, trust, and mutual respect. Based on recent studies and data from our corpus, we have tried to achieve results for some of the language tools that function in these strategies or in terms of indirect communication, such as euphemisms, irony and stimulating sentences "softened". Of course, we have not left aside the language tools, which serve to express the attitudes directly.
