Summary/Abstract: Legislative and legal documents in Bosnia and Herzegovina are published in all three official languages, so they have three different linguistic versions in official gazettes – Bosnian, Croat and Serbian. Among the versions, certain spelling and gramatical differences are introduces to distinguish each version from the others. These differences should reflect the spelling and gramatical variations among their respective standards. Given that these documents belong to the administrative style, abbreviations have a significant plase in this corpus due to their nature. Up until now, abbreviations have not been the focus of the articals addressing this issue. One of the goals of this study is to examine their usage in these documents, comapring them with normative status and guidelines in language standards.
