Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the greater role that computer programming has played as a leading sector in the creative industries in Bulgaria in recent years. The study describes the development of computer programming, tracking the dynamics in employment, the level of the average salaries, the revenues and the profit of the sector. The main accent is on the essential importance of computer programming to the creative industries by the comparison of the indicators of this sector in dynamics with those of the entire creative business. It is a major topic as the paper provides an opportunity to trace the role and development of computer programming in the period before and after the COVID-19 pandemic
