Summary/Abstract: In this study, it was aimed to draw attention to the importance of local weaving by investigating the bibliometric properties of postgraduate theses on local weavings made between 1996-2023. For this purpose, the theses on local weaving, thesis types, the distribution of theses by years, the distribution of theses by universities, the distribution of theses by institutes, the distribution of theses by main science/main art branches, and the keywords used in the theses were tabulated and interpreted. In the literature review on local weaving, various studies on the subject were found. However, no bibliometric analysis of postgraduate theses on local textiles has been found. In the research, to collect data for bibliometric analysis, a total of 120 theses, including 96 master's degree theses, 12 arts proficiency theses and 12 doctoral theses, about local textiles made between 1996 and 2023, were examined. Findings were obtained by examining the data obtained. According to the findings, it has been concluded that the majority of theses on local weaving are master's theses, followed equally by doctoral theses and proficiency in arts theses. It is noteworthy that most of the postgraduate theses on local weaving examined were made in the Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Main Art Branch. The study is important as it sets an example for researchers interested in local weaving. The fact that there is no bibliometric study in the literature discussing postgraduate studies on local weaving is a factor that increases the originality of the study. At the same time, it is anticipated that the study will contribute to the literature in this aspect.
