Summary/Abstract: Classical Turkish poetry has included all stages of local and national social life; He expressed the life, customs and traditions of the people. This poem contains many original contents about social life. Poets combined the inspiration they received from the social and cultural environment they were in with their own knowledge and experience and became a kind of voice for the future generations of that society. In this context, one of the topics that poets deal with based on social life is marriage, which is considered a transition period. Marriage, which is important for the continuity of a social life and the preservation of the generation, is generally encouraged. It is an important process in which the time for men and women to participate in social life as a family begins, and it is a form of behavior that distinguishes the human race from other living creatures. In our cultural environment, marriage practices, which are very rich in terms of ceremonies, customs, traditions and beliefs, are carried out in accordance with certain rules and various patterns accepted by the cultural background in which they are located. In our study, various titles about marriage were created based on the divans of the poets we selected within the scope of classical Turkish poetry, and by explaining the couplets, it was aimed to show that classical Turkish poetry is not disconnected from social life.
