Summary/Abstract: Holidays and festivals dedicated to food and food products can be seen as a new type of phenomenon in Bulgarian festivity and culture. The two culinary festivals, ’’The stuffed pepper festival in the city of Levski’’ and „The pear festival in the village of Krushovene“, Pleven region, have quite a few differences between them, but they are connected by their common goals, namely the formation of local identity, attracting guests and returning to the roots for the local population. The culinary festival „Stuffed pepper in the city of Levski“ is becoming an emblem of the region and a great opportunity for more guests and tourists. The festival of the pear does not inherit an existing one, but was created in modern times. Culinary events are mostly organized according to the seasonality of the products or foods in honor of which they are celebrated. Their duration is different, and their programs are one-day as well as two day or three-day.
