Summary/Abstract: Pleven female costume along with its rich embroidery also features the kind of head covering of the head. Between the various types of decorations are the maiden hairdressers and the bride’s – “kaytsa”, decorating the hair – this part of the body, which is the highest, the mobile and provides the expression of the whole figure. Subject of this notification is traditional maiden bride and festive decorations for the head of the Pleven region, which is part of the depart¬ment “Ethnography” in the museum of Pleven. The object of study be¬spreading distributed in villages along the rivers Vit and Osam. Pleven’s head-decorated headdress enriches the two-legged costume and gives it a festive and complete look. To the ordinary style of smooth braided hair during the holidays, girls added decoration. In the villages it has different names – “kosichnik” (village of Brest, Gulyantsi), “kosatnik” (village of Gigen, Komarevo, Petarnitsa, Slavyanovo, Bohot, etc.). The morning after the wedding the bride is placed bride hat with shiny ornaments. In the different villages it is called “kaytsa” (Brashlianitsa, Riben, Bozhurica, Bohot and the surrounding villages of Pleven), “korbulets” (Gigen, Komarevo, Krushovene, Brest, Gigenska mahala); “tach”, “kote”, “shapka”, “yashmac” and others (Novachene, Vabel, Slavyanovo, Vulchitran). In the notification covering of the head is a small part of the rich and widespread in the Pleven region headdress. How long stems can accurately be determined. The variety of ever-new forms of decoration is driven by a strong sense of beauty and desire for decorative effect.
