Summary/Abstract: The article explores the process of selecting a marital partner from the perspective of various factors, motives, and theories. It analyzes biological, psychological, and social factors that influence the choice of a life partner. Psychoanalytic theories highlight unconscious influences, while sociocultural theories emphasize the role of social norms and cultural context. Additionally, evolutionary approaches focus on physical attraction, survival, and reproduction, whereas cognitive theories highlight how personal thoughts and beliefs influence emotions and behaviors in the context of partner selection. By integrating these perspectives, the article provides a complex and nuanced understanding of the dynamics involved in choosing a marital partner, underscoring their importance in preventing relational dysfunctions and optimizing couple relationships.
