Summary/Abstract: The article examines the peculiarities of the Latin-English-Ukrainian translation of anatomical metaphors with a modifier - the name of a garment or its part. The publication "International Anatomical Terminology (Latin, Ukrainian, Russian, and English equivalents)" edited by V. Cherkasov (2010) and Terminologia Anatomica was chosen as the actual source. This analysis is being done for the first time. An own classification of the ways of emergence and translation features of anatomical terms-metaphors is proposed. The continuous sampling method was used to search for the appropriate anatomical metaphorical binaries, and the comparative method and semi-component analysis were used, which allows for a more detailed consideration of translational transformations. cap band, big cap, cap hump, crown of the head, etc. The vast majority of these metaphorical terms are based on similarities, taking into account color, shape or functional similarities.
