Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to increase awareness of the impact of the phenomenon of human trafficking on the national security of our state. The author aims to inform and to propose actions to prevent the given phenomenon; he provides information on abusive recruitment and human trafficking practices, as well as on the socio-economic factors that facilitate the extent of human trafficking. The author analyzes the conceptual determinations of human trafficking, simultaneously such issues as risk factors, who can become a victim of human trafficking, the features and characteristics of human trafficking. In order to prevent and combat human trafficking, it is proposed to carry out a series of actions, which in the author's opinion would reduce the effects of this negative phenomenon.
