Summary/Abstract: In the light of information identified in a very important documentary material, the current study shows, in a surprisingly way, data and hypothesis less known regarding the origin and the and symbolism of liturgical vestments. Signed by one of the greatest intellectuals the Romanian people gave, the academician Constantin Erbiceanu, the days-old document to which the title of the study refers is, in essence, the fruit of assiduous effort. The erudite professor worked to achieve it in conditions not exactly optimal for research, given the fact that, as we learn from the autobiographical notes, he spent a significant amount of time in the cellars of the Metropolitanate of Moldavia, where he unearthed old manuscripts that he translated and valued. Therefore, the present approach is nothing more than a pious gesture of gratitude towards the effort of the academician Constantin Erbiceanu, pointing that „Christ is the only new reality under the sun” (St. John of Damascus). So, the current study should focus more on the past, on the origins. This effort will guide us to the naturalness of humility, as we will notice that the research efforts do not have the gift of creating new things under the sun. Furthermore, perhaps we will conclude that our predecessors, in conditions much inferior to the possibilities we have today, had much more significant results.
