Summary/Abstract: After the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2017the political power structure in the PRC has undergone a substantial reshuffle whichled to the strengthening of the Party’s institutions and diminishing of the autonomy andauthority of government administration. These changes heavily influenced the effectivemanagement of state affairs in various fields. The 20th National Party Congress notonly decided to further increase the Party’s overall control capacity but also securedXi Jinping’s third term in office as secretary general. These developments pose seriouschallenges to China’s political system stability in the long run as the Party becomesmore and more inflexible in governing the country and prone to internal upheavalsdue to the cessation of the generational power succession.
