Summary/Abstract: After the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2017 political power struc-ture in the PRC has undergone a substantial reshuffle which led to the strengthening of the Party’s in-stitutions and diminishing of the autonomy and authority of government administration. These chang-es heavily influenced the effective management of state affairs in various fields. 20th National PartyCongress not only decided to further increase the Party’s overall control capacity but also securedXi Jinping’s third term in office as secretary general. These developments pose serious challenges toChina’s political system stability in the long run as the Party becomes more and more inflexible ingoverning the country and prone to internal upheavals due to the cessation of the generational powersuccession.
