Summary/Abstract: This work aims to be a small study (focused on the spiritual message, not on philological elements) that shows a concrete example of how the Apostolic Fathers knew and used texts from the New Testament in their writings. I have focused on chapter 15 of the Gospel of John and, after a brief exegesis of this evangelical text, I will look for a concordance (or discordance) in the use of the message from John 15 in the works of four apostolic authors: the Epistle to the Corinthians (St. Clement of Rome), the Epistle to the Philippians (St. Polycarp of Smyrna), the Epistle to Diognetus, and the Shepherd (Hermas). It should be noted that this chapter is not used in its entirety in these 4 works, each of them referencing (directly or indirectly) only a few verses from John 15.
