Summary/Abstract: The first archaeological information related to the area of the Horodiștea village (the commune of Păltiniș, Botoșani County) was brought to the attention of tehe scientifical wold following the excavations carried out by Hortensia Dumitrescu (1929) and Paul Verona (1934) , in the point of Horodiştea-În Bâtcă. Subsequently, in 1966-1970, other specialists, i.e., Viorica Perian, Nicolae Zaharia, Emilia Zaharia, and Dinu Marin continued the archaeological research in the sites of Horodiştea - Dealul Păltiniş and Horodiştea - În Bâtcă. The team of the Archaeological Repertory of Botoșani comprising Alexandru Păunescu, Paul Șadurschi and Vasile Chirica completed the field research of the area in the period between 1973-1975, which led to the discovery of the following points: Horodiştea-Sub Dealul Crucii; Horodiştea-Vatra Satului Crăiniceni, and Horodiştea-Bobeucă. The recent surface research conducted in the spring of 2022, on the eastern side of the Horodiștea village, in the basin of the Ișnovăț creek, has revealed a new archaeological site that completes the repertory of prehistorical sites within the county of Botoșani.
