Summary/Abstract: Gender is a social construct, it is not formed by nature, but by the ideas of people, materialized in sustainable forms of social practices. A key direction in the formation of gender is the construction of its intergender boundaries, which also contain its essence. The logic of this process is simple: "A man is not a woman, and a woman is not a man." Gender is constructed by emphasizing these differences using a variety of mechanisms, among which consumption occupies an important place. The category social sex (gender) does not describe individual characteristics, but an individual reality imposing its patterns on the individuals who fall into it
