The social activity of Fr. Wacław Kokowski (1868–1934)

Summary/Abstract: Fr. Wacław Kokowski came from a noble family. After graduating high school in Kalisz, entered the seminary in Włocławek. After ordination, he began pastoral work in a few parishes, include in Dzietrzniki, Ręczno, Srocko and Rząśnia. Additionally he was involved in social activities, including in terms of raising the intellectual level in rural communities and increasing the effectiveness of agricultural work. He was involved in the development of fire service and initiated the creation of many social institutions. Thanks to his efforts three community houses were built as cultural and educational centers in villages. His political involvement contributed to raising the believers awareness of current social changes.
