Some considerations regarding the subject of the demography

Summary/Abstract: The article includes a version of classification of the definitions of the demography. It is adopted a general definition, concidered as a nucleus of the difinding. In accordance with supplemented aspects to this nucleus concerning the population study, six groups of definitions are pointed out. The fallowing definition is suggested and justified: The subject of the demography is related with (to) numerical and qualitative characteristics of the generations and to the indication of the objective laws govering their replacement and which are determined by the tension of the society. The central point of the article concerns the decodification of the notion "tension of the society". Commonly it is defined as a measure of the ability of a given nation to uphold historical changes. A hypothesis regarding the availability of "genetic codification" of the population dimension is presented. A proposal is made for transition from characteristic of the demography by object to its functional characteristic. Regarding the current historical period it is defined as demography of surviving and rescuing.
