Summary/Abstract: The article presents semantic and pragmatic analysis of a lexical item niejaki on the basis of contemporary Polish texts. Niejaki represents a grammatical class of indefinite pronouns but its indefiniteness is quite different from the other indefinite pronouns. As a result three main usages of niejaki which depend on the meaning of the noun it combines with have been distinguished.
