Summary/Abstract: The present paper advocates a contemporany reading of the volum of Ghiţă Ionescu, „Comunismul în România“. Being a relevant picture of the communist regime, the volume guides the discussion towards the theory of „communist legacy“,a general formula designating the genetic explanation of post-communism. This is, therefore, the theoretical perspective under which we propose to (re)reading this book.
