Summary/Abstract: At present, European Union member states have a different level of social and economic development. These are countries advanced in development as well as economically backward. In this context, the purpose of the article is to present social and economic development of Ukraine in comparison to other European Union member states. Statistical indices and methods have been used for this comparison.
