Summary/Abstract: In mid-April, one of the greatest connoisseurs and lovers of Romanian literature and culture passed away: Professor Heinrich Stiehler (September 6, 1948 – April 12, 2023), the author of the best German edition of Panait Istrati’s works (14 volumes) and a remarkable monographic study dedicated to the "genius vagabond," based on his doctoral thesis defended in 1978 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.
