Summary/Abstract: The scientific approach aims to analyze the Romanian legislative framework for combating violence and harassment at work in the context of the recent ratification by the Romanian legislator of the Convention on the Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the World of Work, known as the Convention of the International Labor Organization (OIM)(no. 190). The international normative act sets a series of benchmarks for the member states starting from the clarification of the notions of "violence and harassment in the world of work" respectively "violence and harassment based on gender difference", the sphere of protected persons, the content of the phrase workplace, leaving the express regulation of the sanctioning of acts of violence and harassment at the workplace under national legislation. The basic principles formulated, the establishment of the need for protection and prevention by adopting regulations that define and prohibit violence and harassment in the world of work, as well as establishing concrete measures for their application and monitoring, including by guaranteeing remedies for beneficiaries, are addressed are in the form of recommendations to the member states, that are to choose the paths to follow in the pre-existing legislative contexts.
