Székely Settlements Historiography

Summary/Abstract: This paper summarizes the literature on currently inhabited Székely. In the first part, it deals with “the theme as part of general works” from Anonymous to contemporary treaties regarding Transylvania, paying special attention to catalogues and collections of documents. The second chapter is about “works which present the Székely region”; it is mentioned here general studies and those of special research areas, such as archeology and ethnography. Finally, the last chapter deals with “Monographs of places” revealing, in particular, studies on the evolution of main cities: Targu Mureş, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Targu Secuiesc and others.
