Summary/Abstract: Global warming and climate change are among the major global concerns. Demands for green management have risen from societal mandates (Marcus, 1980) and fear of shunning, loss of sales, and decline in reputation if management does not have a tangible commitment to green management (Sexton, Marcus, Easter and Burkhardt, 1999). Business schools have an important role to play in the sustainability and green management. This paper studies green management research and practice in Indian business schools. However the findings are not encouraging. Most of the schools under study do not have a sound state of research or practice in green management. Furthermore, most of the faculties under study don’t see any change in the near future in terms of participation of their schools in green management.
