Summary/Abstract: The Hebrew text of the biblical book of Ester narrates a lot of events. Recent narratology (G. Genette, S. Rimmon-Kenan) takes notice of the time manifestations, the point of view, and the plot of narration (which can be graphically represented). This methodology was applied on the narration in the above-mentioned Old Testament book. Two main story lines can be distinguished in the book of Ester (searching for a new queen and confirming a high position in the Persian kingdom). They are connected with an important episode (Mordecai saves the life of the king).
