Summary/Abstract: This study is a historical outline of the relations between Romanian journalists and those from other countries, during the 1900-1989 period. We have valued unpublished documents from the archives, through which we demonstrate that national journalism has not evolved in isolation. On the contrary, numerous formal and informal opportunities for professional cooperation will appear from 1900 onwards. Romanian associations were represented at all journalism international meetings; they organized the Latin Press Congress, the Press Little Entente, the Romanian-Polish Press, the Tourism International Colloquy, the International Conference of Reporters, etc. Even during the communist administrations, there were professional exchanges, participations in various events – the studied documents show that the President of Romania himself approved the costs for Romania’s representation at international events.
