PROFESSOR MAHIR DOMI’S REFERENCES FOR JUP KASTRATI

Summary/Abstract: Beginnings of evaluation of Jup Kastrati’s work by Professor Mahir Domi belong to the fifties, when Professor Jup Kastrati was graduated, but before that the evaluation is done for his work in general, it belonged to his monograph for Ndre Mjeda. This is the reason why our first reference is going to be the review of 1971 by Professor Domi, which in fact was the recommendation for Kastrati’s title of docent. In this review, firstly Professor Mahir Domi acknowledges two methods of research of Professor Kastrati: Scientific research method and scientific-popularising method, while reviewing Kastrati’s scientific work in general, Professor Mahir Domi notices that it has been carried out in certain other fields of Albanological science, starting from historical-chronological principle of his fields of interest. This is the reason that the review of Jup Kastrati’s contribution begins with his valuable work in the field of bibliography. Indeed, as Professor Domi has noticed, Jup Kastrati’s studies in the field of Albanology begin with various bibliographical editions, and “it included not only bibliographical repertories but also bibliographical studies. His merits are great, especially if we bear in mind that he contributed so much in a field which is not promoted as much as the development of scientific work requires, concluded Professor Mahir Domi. If we do certain efforts, even in general, to recollect relations between Professor Mahir Domit and Professor Jup Kastrati, we can easily notice some exemplary sides of their intercommunication, anyhow very human. Firstly, for a continuous fifty years tradition, secondly for a coherent opinion of Professor Jup Kastrati for the respected Professor Domi, thirdly for an advanced scientific opinion of Professor Mahir for his colleague, and fourthly, but not the last one, for moral and scientific peaks (this notion is used intentionally and in its interdisciplinary function) that marked the work of these both professors in the field of Albanology.
