Summary/Abstract: This article briefly reviews puppet theatre development, its educational importance and peculiarities of teachers’ and primary school pupils’ attitude towards puppet theatre. The survey, which was made at 3 schools of Pakruojis and Pasvalys districts, showed that though teaching programs do not particularly mention puppet theatre activities, a creative teacher can find the ways to invoke this activity during additional education lessons or after-s chool activities. The analysis showed that the respondent pupils want to have puppet theatre activity at school and they krust their teachers. The development of creative personality, creative cooperation between pupils and teachers is emphasized. Only a skilful and inventive teacher is capable of integrating puppet theatre elements into different teaching subjects; he/she stimulates and intensifies pupils’ need for self-expression.
